Curvy Girl Clothing and Design Excitement

Category: Projects

I want to start off my post by pointing out my most recent job that was for Curvy Girl Clothing. They are hosting the “Real Women Have Curves” model search which is going to award one very lucky curvy girl with a trip to L.A amongst other exciting prizes. The project I was responsible for is their main contest entry page along with corresponding banners to match. I was quite pleased with the outcome and can’t wait to see which lucky entrant gets to bathe in the pampering. Curvy Girl Clothing has earned my respect for offering a wide variety of fashionable clothing for plus sized women. If you or anyone you know is a plus sized woman feel free to click over their way and check out the exciting fashions they have to offer and be sure to enter the contest!

My Web Design Space

Category: Uncategorized

Hey everyone, It’s me and look at my new space.  I’m more then excited to announced the launch of my new Web Design blog where I will feature new projects, links to cool places to learn more about web design and any other goodies I decide to add as I go along.

It is hard to believe I launched this website almost a year ago now and it is coming along quite well. In the past 8 months or so I have been especially busy with online jobs that have really helped me grow in the web design field.

On the other side I picked up two super nice books The Photoshop Bible and The Dreamweaver Bible on half.com from Smokey Mountain books which is absolutely the BEST bookseller I have ever encountered online- lowest prices on both Amazon. and Half.com which is pretty amazing in my book. I shop online religiously.

Anyways- I am not a book reader  when it comes to learning things. I am the type who likes to get my hands dirty and learn on my own. I have never picked up a book in regards to graphics or coding but on this occasion I am thankful I did. In the Photoshop Bible,  McClelland is so down to earth. His writing style makes the book both easy and entertaining to read. This is without even mentioning I love his design style.. he is so fluent in filters and techniques you are guaranteed to have an information overload in the first 30 minutes. My advice.. put the book down… and run to your nearest computer and make it happen.

I have not finished it yet (partially because I was so intrigued by the availability of the Dreamweaver Bible) but I do find myself going back from time to time when a new idea strikes and I am wondering.. “How exactly would I do that the best way?”

On the other hand I have not gotten enough chance to play in the Dreamweaver Bible to give you an accurate review but I will say I found the Photoshop Bible to be much more entertaining.

Well that is it for now. I’m going to go work on a project of my own I have had on the burner a little while  ~smile~ I look forward to working on yours soon. Please remember for anyone in the Coastal Carolina area looking for web site design or anywhere else- I DO participate in one on one consultations in many forms. Call me anytime 24-7 and we’ll chat about your next big move.
